Political Thoughts

Though I self identify as a Republican, I am not a politician and therefore I do not have to believe in all the same things as the President or any other person who is speaking on behalf of the Republican Party. I am an individual and as such, my views are not completely in line with the mainstream Republican Party. My views are more raw, less nice, sometimes contradictory, and always open to changing based on good evidence and debate. Here are my Core Beliefs:

* Taxes are too high.

1) The Government needs to stick to a budget.

a) Their should be consequences if they can’t stick to it.

2) The Flat Tax needs to be debated.

a) It would be easier to enforce then the current tax code

b) The IRS would need less employees

c) Less money would be taken out of your paycheck

3) Or a National Sales Tax instead of Income taxes

4) Repay the National Debt not just balance the budget.

5) Cut out Pork Barrell spending completely.

* The Government is too large.

1) Each agency could make do with less employees.

2) Find Private Companies to take over non vital functions.

a) as long as it doesn’t effect National Security

b) or cost more than the current system

3) Share information within a central database to cut down on overlapping duties.

a) access restricted based on security clearence

* Eliminate or Modify Selective Service System (the Draft)

1) Require Girls to sign up and be used in non combat roles

*Disengage from World Politics

1) We have a long and successful history of being isolationists

2) We spend too much in foriegn aid that isn’t appreciated

3) We need to pull out from all foriegn troop deployments

a) This includes Europe, S. Korea, Japan, Iraq, and Peace Keeping.

4) We need to develop defensive weapons not offensive ones.

* We need to overhaul the Education System

1) Vouchers need to be given to the poorest third of the population.

a) competition will create better schools

2) Teacher Unions need to be broken

a) they have too much control over what is taught.

3) Get back to basics and focus on Math, Reading, and Writing.

a) Eliminate all other subjects until grade 3 is complete.

*Abandon Social Security

1) Anyone over 40 on the Start date will recieve benifits.

2) Everyone else must fund their own retirement.

3) Social Security Taxes still taken until:

a) Fund is large enough to take care of those that get benifits

b) Everyone recieveing benifits has died

*Fundementally Change the purpose of the Military

1) Focus Research and Development on Defensive Tactics

2) Increase Corps of Engineers decrease Soldiers

3) Bring troops home to focus on Homeland Security and Borders.

*Control all points of entry

1) Decrease illegal immigration by enforcing current laws.

a) Military personal at the border and inspecting ships.

2) Increase LEGAL immigration

a) require English Fluency

b) require Specialized Job Skills

*Social Issues

1) Gay Marriage

a) Religious issue not State issue, let each religion choose.

2) Women’s Rights

a) should be equal to any man.

3) Minorities

a) should be treated equally, but not given special advantages

4) Poor People

a) should be given every opportunity to better themselves.

b) however, if still poor after 30 the government should stop providing benifits.

5) Underage Children having Children

a) Should be compelled to have children adopted

6) Abortion

a) A woman should have the right to make an informed decision

b) Adoption should be explained before Abortion is recieved

c) Manditory after-care counseling to help deal with emotions
